while the network is open to newcomers, you must contact kat in order to get the server password. this is our way of keeping the network relatively small and close-knit!

4-walls provides two hosted instances of the IRC clients gamja and the lounge. the latter requires a dedicated account to join.

our list of channels can be found at /channels, which updates in real time.

the code for the channel list was written by neatnik and can be found on source.tube.

specs & info #

4-walls runs on ergo. chat history is enabled and stored as enabled by this software, and past history may be viewed by newcomers.

we support and encourage the use of most IRCv3 features.

there is a dedicated bouncer that runs soju. to join and use the bouncer, you have to contact kat. the bouncer supports file uploads and all features offered by the software.

there is currently one bot on the network, by the name of naevis. it runs cardinal with all supported features of the bot, and is in every channel. more bots may be added by user request or if kat feels like it.

for now, there is little restriction on chat logs/history, except that they may not be shared on the public internet. users are allowed to keep personal logs of chats for their own use. please keep this in mind if sharing sensitive information on the network
